Which is your signature item?
There are three - The Carrot Cake, Apple Crumble and Apple Pie, yes as in as American as Apple Pie. This is the American Apple Pie.
Why are Calendar’s cakes and pies special?
You have to taste them to know why, the Carrot Cake is also known as The Carat Cake. It is chocked full of goodness, not only tastes good but in moderation it is good for the system too.
Ingredients are carefully selected and the finished products personally inspected by the American behind the pies.
How big are your cakes and pies?
Our cakes are 8” (1 kg) and 9” (2kg). All cakes are handmade and weight is approximate.
From constant requests by loyal fans, we recently launched our “Giant Carrot Cupcake” which is 6” (about 500gms). Carrot cakes are also available as mini Classic Rosette Cupcakes which are ideal as gifts.
Do I need to order in advance?
Yes most definitely. We need at least 2 working days, especially so for pies and crumbles.
However due to the popularity of Carrot and Chocolate Cakes, we have a couple ready to go. Please phone in advance to reserve one for yourself if you intend to drop in or you might be disappointed! Definitely order in advance if you need more than one.
For customised cakes (recent development) we need at least 5 working days and full advance payment for confirmation of order.
Do you do delivery?
Delivery is subject to location, schedule for the day and of course situations beyond our control like the weather and traffic.
Free delivery for orders above $150, careful planning and ordering ahead to receive your cakes a day earlier is advisable during the peak festive season. This is subject to the above.
Delivery charges vary from $10 to $20 per location.
Are you open for collection?
Yes we are, collection starts from 8.30am to 3pm Mondays to Fridays and 8.30am to 12noon for Saturdays. We are closed Sundays and public holidays.
If for some reason you are unable to conform to the above schedule, ring 64640383 and we will make arrangements for someone to standby from 6pm to 7pm weekdays. This is subject to availability.
How long can I keep pies and cakes for?
Cakes can keep well for weeks in the freezer in a sealed container and around 7 to 10 days in the fridge in a sealed container. Pies can be frozen too but if you want optimum tasting pies, they are best fresh.
